Quality Materials & Craftmanship

We use high-quality, authentic materials when creating our products. This includes genuine gold-plating, semi-precious stones, real leather, high quality brass and copper, silk tassels and claw-set zircon stones. The lampwork glass beads we use are handmade.

Our jewellery is Nickel, Cadmium and Lead free. All earring posts are crafted in stainless (surgical grade) steel, making them hypoallergenic.

We strive to be as transparent as possible, in our product descriptions and we always explicitly list the materials used to create our products.

To ensure all our products are of a high standard, we champion a slow production process that focuses on craftsmanship. Quality over quantity. Each piece of Nat Kent Jewellery is handcrafted with love, packaged, and delivered to you.

Our goal is to create bold, high-quality, mixed media costume jewellery in limited quantities, for you to enjoy for many years to come.

Reducing Reliance on Plastics

We are acutely aware of the single-use plastic problem our planet is facing. We believe it is essential to use packaging that can be recycled and is biodegradable.

All our accessories are packaged in cardboard boxes without plastic inners or inserts. Our mailing bags are compostable. Our dust bags are made from a thick, recycled, cotton canvas fabric. Our large statement necklaces are packaged in our signature leathergrain A4 box. This box is designed to be kept and used for storing your jewellery when not in use. We use tissue paper to wrap our accessories and pad out boxes to ensure a safe transit.

At times, we may use bubble wrap. However, any plastic packaging we use - is recycled with the intention of increasing the value and life span of the material. It has not been purchased new for the purpose of sending goods.

Finding Value in Vintage

At Nat Kent Jewellery, we love using we use vintage beads, leather deadstock, and reclaimed material - such as repurposed gemstones, as much as possible. This is an environmentally friendly approach to design, that draws upon the strengths of different materials and ensures, not all elements of our products need to be manufactured new. We sill always explicitly list any vintage materials used in our product descriptions.

Consciously Created Products

At Nat Kent Jewellery we create our designs in small, intentional quantities. This helps us control the quality of the jewellery we produce. We have ceased creating large collections that fuels fast fashion. We no longer rush to produce collections every season, and instead champion slow, mindful, and intentional production of our accessories, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.

Many of our products are made to order, meaning each product is consciously created for the person who purchases it.

Valuing Relationships

Nat Kent Jewellery has worked in partnership with the same manufacturing house for over 10 years, during this decade we have formed close bonds with the people who help cocreate our products. We believe that relationships are the cornerstone of our brand.

Nat Kent has travelled the world and visited many of the places where her products are made, stayed the with families who cocreate them and learned about the importance of connectedness along the way. It is this global network that inspires our brand narrative.

Our partnerships are respectfully based on skills and knowledge, not the acquisition of labour or resources. Our global partners include –a foundry is in China where our designs are turned into brass castings and plated, a lapidary in India that specialise in hand-cut gemstones, skilled artisans in South East Asia who hand-carve our shell products, and glass experts in Japan who create intricate handspun beads.

Nat Kent Jewellery is based on the Gold Coast, Australia.

We acknowledge the Kombumerri people, as the Traditional Custodians of the beautiful land on which our products are designed and created. We pay respect to Elders, both past, present and emerging as they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of our Indigenous people.
